Our Pastor

Our-PastorReverend Reginald T. Johnson, Jr., was born to the late Reverend Reginald T. Johnson, Sr. & Laverne E. Johnson on July 14, 1970 in Baltimore, Maryland.

Rev. Johnson was saved at an early age and was raised and nurtured at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Leonard E. Hicks. He served on the youth choir and the Jr. Deacon Board.   Rev. Johnson joined the Cornerstone Church of Christ in 1989 and immediately began serving on the youth & young adult choir, the Cornerstone choir, and was also the church drummer under the leadership of our founding Pastor, Dr. I. Logan Kearse.

Rev. Johnson was called to preach the gospel in 1991 and preached his initial sermon on the second Sunday of June, 1991 under the leadership of acting Pastor, Rev. William C. Bailey.  Rev. Johnson was called to be the interim Pastor of Cornerstone in 1993. He was ordained in August 1994 and installed as the second Pastor of the Cornerstone Church of Christ in September 1994.

Rev. Johnson strives to make his vision of taking the Cornerstone Church of Christ “To The Next Level” a reality. Under his leadership, the church has undergone a major renovation project, including a totally redesigned pulpit, installation of new pews, carpeting, handicap accessibility, and an administration building adjacent to the church. There has been an abundance of newly created ministries, revamping of the executive and official board, and various ministerial appointments. Pastor Johnson maintains his commitment to build “Excellence in the Kingdom” of God. He is also a featured contributor in the book entitled, “Messengers” Portraits of African American Ministers, Evangelists, Gospel Singers and Other Messengers of the Word, by Author, David Ritz.

Rev. Johnson is a graduate of Walbrook Senior High School Class of 1989 and Morgan State University, class of 2005 with a BS degree in Psychology. He also attended the Arlington Bible College in Baltimore Md. Rev. Johnson is an active member of the Nu Sigma Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and strives to live out its principles of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service. On October 20, 2009 Rev. Johnson received his Master of Arts degree in Theology, from Liberty University’s Theological Seminary in Lynchburg Virginia.

Rev. Johnson is the proud father of two beautiful daughters, Trinity and Myia.
